Development of non-destructive electrical materials testing methods and instruments

Keywords: instrument development; impedance, measurement method development; solving measurement engineering problems, material composition analysis, measurement of inhomogeneous materials

The research topic covers the full spectrum of advanced electrical non-destructive material testing techniques, with a particular focus on the development of instrumentation, methodologies and measurement evaluation algorithms. The research is limited to tomographic methods in the first line. The methods for "simpler" applications (impedance time series, impedance spectroscopy, etc.) are at an advanced stage (applied research). The applications of the methods are: geophysical measurements (contaminated soils, landfill exploration, hydrogeology), laboratory tests (e.g. monitoring of chemical reactors), biological and medical applications.
